Whis and Beerus are great addition to Dragon Ball Universe but

They eliminate any sense of urgency and threat from any arc which makes me wonder, is this reason why half of the DBS is involved tournaments where gods are hands tied to interfere with the mortal business.

• DBS: Super hero is why is so good because it focused on earth and Piccolo and Gohan where as rest of the main cast are on different planet can't sense what is going on Earth. I know Whis and Beerus can't involve themselves in mortals business because they will disappear or its against supreme god's rules, but you can still see how much Whis was still involved in Moro and Grelona's arc.
