I’m practically brand new to painting. In the past 5 months I’ve probably painted under 30 models. These 9 included. I started with some GW Space Marines, moved to some black/grey wolves, and moved on to DnD Blights.

Now I’ve tried my hand at some town guards. I got some new paint for these guys. Tried out the Army Painter Speed Paint 2.0 and have to say I enjoyed the process over all.

Here’s my process:
1. I rattle-can primed with chaos black.
2. I attempted to rattle-can zenithal with wraith bone (first time trying a zenithal)
3. I used Army Painter Speed Paint on the rest.

Colors: Murder Scene (Red), Grim Black, Dark Wood, Satchel Brown, Broadsword Silver, Peachy Fleshy, Burnished Red.

Additionally I’m thinking of giving these guys a “marine juice” wash. I saw it on YouTube and it looks pretty cool. 3 parts dark tone, 3 parts reikland flesh shade, 4 parts Lahmian medium -but I’m a bit worried they may get too dark?

Like I said I’m overall satisfied. My goal was to get these guys table ready so that I could play with them, I’m not trying to win any awards. Saying that, I noticed these guys dried a little “chalky”? Is that the word for it?

I only really noticed it under bright light and macro-camera shot. Any pointers for that? Is it just the speed paint?

Any pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks (:
