Move from Big City to Small One?

How open are you all about moving to a small city/college town for a relation?

I live in a college town and prefer not to live in a big city, but close to one so that I can do my groceries and flying to places.

I feel this might have a negative impact on finding a suitable partner in life as I feel people prefer to live in a big city over smaller places, especially ABCDs or US Born Desis… Does anyone have an experience similar to this?

(Hoping to be a professor, so more opportunities in smaller cities/college towns)
