Call from DWP about mandatory reconsideration

Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

Hi all - I received a text message from DWP to say: 'we need to call you about your personal independence payment'. Later they called and asked if I had anything to update about the MR - I had a couple of things including a medical referral and medication dosage increase. They then asked me if I would be okay with a lump sum payment. He said I will have a decision next week.

Is this standard? I didn't take it to mean that the MR has been successful (I was not holding out much hope). But I'm puzzled as to why they'd call me as they didn't call me the last time, just sent a nope letter.

Thanks in advance - I've found the whole process very demoralising and stressful.
