im searching for a pretentious book buddy
i dont actually think that any of the books i like a pretentious, i just couldnt think of a good way to describe them.
which is one of the reasons why im searching for someone to talk about the books that we have read, and maybe parallel read. i wanna become better in expressing what i like and love a bout books. be more conscious about the themes and how the relate to stuff and such.
i love writers like Calvina, Kafka and Woolf. i prefer short books, Classics, litfic. usally with a focus on books that are not written in english, books from all around the world. ( i guess some call them books in translation, but english isnt my native language, so it wouldnt really make sense) i just searching books further off the mainstream (not that far), there are always so manny small books that deserve more light shed on them.
books that im planing to read: Malina by Ingeborg Bachmann Short Stories by Anton Chekhov the tunnel by Ernesto Sabato HHhH by Lauret Binet Memoirs of Hadrian by Marguerite Yourcenar
I am curently in a phase were i try to slowly move on to read longer books, to read the big books, the once that everyone wants to read, like Proust, Dostovesky and Ferrante...
Also im a guy in my midtwenties and im broke, so alot of times if i can read a book, or what books i read, is based on if my library has it or not.
just comment or dm
