Very Frustrated: How to turn off the screen Sensitivity?!

I've had the Pixel 9 Pro after having Samsung phones since December 2018.

I'm getting more comfortable with the phone and camera has improved but the F'n screen just turns on whenever. It takes butt photos, pops open to whatever I looked at last, interrupts my Spotify groove mid song when it's in my hand, shuts off during navigation a million times while driving. Last night while I'm outside the Comedy Cellar 3 men assaulted this woman. I called 911 but after it called my boss at 1 am in the morning and recorded the conversation. I'm not sure but it was a just my group discussing this woman bleeding out of her mouth and the back of her head, nothing too crazy. However, I don't my boss hearing my Friday night conversations.

Please help me turn this screen off. I've never had a phone turn on this much randomly. I only want it to turn when I press the button.
