27M | Journey to first cr (it would be interesting to see how soon every next cr comes in) | Seeking advice on my fears and plans.

FIRE milestone!

My net-worth graph over time

Pie chart of my wealth Distribution

Pie chart of my dad's and my net worth combined

Just hit my first cr, this community has given me a lot of wisdom, thanks a lot you awesome people of internet!

I like keeping spreadsheets and making visual charts. Attached are some charts around my NW journey(The raw values are the solid checkpoints that I captured at odd times, I wasn't very regular, now I do it every month and dotted lines are connecting those concrete points showing the non-concrete values by finding shortest path), and NW split.

A. Few pointers for context :

  1. I am a minimalist and scientifically spiritual, and aim to spend my post FIRE time into studying, correlating philosophy, psychology, religions, etc. and build something out of it for the world to optimise living, make sense and use out of ancient knowledge and optimise life (without the pressure to make profits, hence would like to keep it bootstrapped). I am studying and researching a few things even now. My intent is to live mindfully, have a healthy longer life so I have more time to study and research in depth. And for all that I would need money, and hence I am working as a software dev.
  2. My current salary (as visible in black dots in chart) is 35LPA, my current expenses per month normally comes around 15k(My food, rent, sports, travels, bills), but coz of my parent's online travelling tickets and purchases can go to 25-30k on few months.
  3. My exposure to equity is low because my dad is heavily invested in stocks, so much so that if you compare the second and third image, equity exposure of 35% goes to 66% when I consider his portfolio as well.

B. Fears for which I seek your advice

  1. Software Development job, as you can tell looking at social media, is not so stable these days, AI is revolutionising this space. Although I am really good at my job and I would rate my brainstorming skills, communication and tactfully solving problems more than the repetitive or syntactical coding and designing that AI can replace, I still have fears about it.
  2. My dad's portfolio has high direct equity exposure in scripts, which makes me worry, we are planning to rebalance the direct equity into Mutual funds and ETFs to avoid SPOFs.
  3. I am also scared if I am doing something wrong, coz maybe me learning personal finance from few books(like psychology of money, rich dad poor dad, etc.), binging hours and hours of personal finance videos on youtube and reading all the wisdom on reddit, is not enough? I have made good profits and cut losses quick in my positional trading and have been very mindful of buying dips for long term investment, but I am afraid I might be overconfident due to few success and might do something wrong. I stay grounded by debating things with my dad, we always try to contradict and look at things from multiple angles without ego or bias. And yet at the back of my head I am a lil fearful.
  4. I have seen a lot of people here talk about having financial advisor, I don't know if I need one coz I talked to a few acquaintances who had, "seemingly" good financial advisors, and their approach and returns were not that impressive. Also I think people prefer advisors, so that they don't carry that fear that I was talking about in pt3, I don't mind having that fear if that gives me more control, experience and learning for future and returns. But at the same time I would love to hear about your experiences with Financial Advisors.
  5. I see a lot of influencers and folks here suggesting insurance, I only have a 1cr term life insurance and health insurance for myself and my parents FROM MY COMPANY. This is looked down upon by a lot of folks and they suggest taking personal insurances too. I have two reservations about it and would love to get corrected or schooled by your views and experiences:
    1. My parents and I are very anti doctor, we all have very satvik diet, excercise and preemptively strike any illness by taking apt supplements. We get regular health checkups and have spiritual practices that also help with physical, mental and psychological health. My mom had diabetes and my dad had hereditary heart issues, they fixed it all using healthy practices and are off meds for more than 10 years now.
    2. My parents live in a very remote place near Nepal, where in case they have any emergency, the nearest hospital that can take care of them is in Nepal and I couldn't find any insurance that covers those bills.
    3. For Life insurance, I think my parents have it need to confirm, but in terms of health insurance, I feel taking one for them might not be worth it coz of pt5.1 and 5.2

C. Plans

  1. I will continue my job and ace it as long as I can.
    1. if I never get laid off then I would continue till I hit 7cr personal NW, which I think I can hit in next 8-10 years.(am I off in assuming this?)
    2. I would switch to a low effort role and invest more time and effort in building something based on my research and study and if I get confirmation, I would quit my job.
    3. I would quit full time and focus on my research and start something simple if I find it worth it.
    4. If I get off my job for any xyz reason:
      1. If personal NW < 2cr, I would try to find another job.
      2. If personal NW between 2cr -7cr, I would spend a lot of time into positional trading to reach my 7cr target and will continue my research. Might start something of my own if something strikes
  2. I plan to rebalance my dad'd portfolio, shift things to MF and ETFs maintain a 60% equity exposure

|| || |Intent|Type|Out of 60%| |Long term|Dividend paying|24%| |Extra Long term|Mutual Fund and index|24%| |Swing|Stocks|12%|

Thanks for following through the post, please help me with your experiences around Section B and C and correct me in any of my wrong assumptions and pov.
