People who ask "What are the odds?" of some completely unpredictable event.
One of the subs I frequent is r/theydidthemath and I see this asked all the time. I'm not talking about someone just saying it rhetorically after something crazy happens, but people who want someone to actually come up with a number.
I'm taking about something like "What are the odds that my best friend from High School that I haven't seen in years and I both show up to our reunion in the same dress?"
How is anyone supposed to answer this with any sort of accuracy? Sure people can make estimates, but they are going to be wildly inaccurate, and in that case why bother asking.
I get that people just treat Reddit like some analog AI, but it just irks me to see this kind of thing over and over.
