The Goal is to Pursue HR but Might Start as an Admin assistant/receptionist. Is it still okay to pursue HR path later on?

I’m a fresh Psych grad from Calabarzon and I recently applied for a receptionist/admin staff position at a learning and therapy center near me (around 20–30 mins away). The salary range is ₱10k–₱15k, and when they asked for my expected salary through message, I said ₱14k and mentioned I’m open to discussion. Now I’m kinda overthinking it — kasi what if mas babaan pa nila dahil sa sinabi ko na ‘yon?

My interview’s on Monday. The job is mostly front desk and admin work, assisting teachers and therapists, parents and students, handling attendance and payments, organizing documents, etc.

Ang goal ko talaga is to work in HR, but since it’s hard finding a job as a fresh grad (almost 2 months na naghahanap ng work), I thought I’d take this one first for the experience. I also did some admin tasks during my internship, so maybe it’s still connected somehow.

Do you think starting as an admin/receptionist is okay if I want to go into HR later on? And was ₱14k a good expected salary to say for a fresh grad?
