Spoiling Scream 7 should not have been part of the boycott

What Spyglass did to Melissa was wrong. However, the way the boycott is being handled is not the appropriate way because there is a likelihood that it will backfire.

For one, I never thought it was okay to try and hurt the many actors, costume designers, artists, camera people, or various others involved who are just trying to make a living the bad people because Gary Barber is an obvious Zionist who tried to blacklist Melissa. I do believe that unless you would quit your job IMMEDIATELY upon knowing your employer wrongfully fired someone the same way she was, then you’re being performative. If you’re not researching the ties of every product, service, and media you’re consuming, then you’re being performative.

Even with all of that, I was willing to boycott the film and wait for it to be available some other way because I didn’t want to give my money to Barber.

Now that I believe someone has spoiled it for me as part of the boycott, I am definitely going to see it in theaters at least 7 times (if good) or 6 times (if it’s bad). Spoiling the film hurts people who were trying to go about this the right way.
