Questions of going Armed

Ive been with company for 6 years and im finally going armed. I've never used a gun but I have 4 days which it looks like I have 9-5 schedule.

I know company is going issue me one but what is it like really going through it. Is it really 9-5 schedule because i think 2 days ill be at range im not sure if thats full time or if these are like 3 hour courses?
