Cannot connect to public WiFi while NordLynx is active

I've noticed that I cannot to connect to public WiFi (any WiFi network that requires going to a separate page to log in or accept terms) while NordLynx is active. The log-in page cannot appear.

I cannot seem to find the option to deactivate NordLynx on the Windows NordVPN application (and I obviously can't if, for whatever reason, I've been logged out of the Nord application); I'm forced use Task Manager to force NordLynx to disable, then log on to the WiFi network, before finally reactivating Nord (and NordLynx) to use the internet like normal. (This doesn't happen if the public WiFi network remembers me and connects me automatically. This also doesn't seem to happen on Android.)

I have three questions:

Is there a reason why this happens?
How can I circumvent this issue, i.e. connect without disabling NordLynx?
Is there a way to disable NordLynx within the app? (When it's active, my WiFi symbol looks like it's connected to a LAN network called NordLynx (No internet access).)
