Q4 2024 limit function

Can anyone explain what the limit button does on the adaptive cruise control stick.

I get it limits the speed to perceived speed limits but it doesn't seem to work with cruise control which makes it near useless.

I had cruise active and pressed the limit button, shows lim on the dash but just felt the speed gradually decrease and I was below the speed limit. Pulling the stick towards me changed it to lim auto but that's seemed to have no effect either
