MMC compromises FMC on purpose

I’ve always read ones where it’s all a misunderstanding but that have to get married anyway. Are there any HRs out there where the MMC compromises the FMC on purpose because he actually WANTS to be married to the FMC ? It could be because he actually loves her and he knows this is the only way guaranteed to have her or it could be because he’s using her at first and ends up falling in love with her.

One of my most favorite HRs ever is {The Bastard by S.M. LaViolette & Minerva Spencer} and the MMC knew he wanted the FMC the moment he saw her, literally one of the most believable “love at first sight” moments and it wasn’t lust !! She was saving a dog and he was just like “yup, she’s it for me” 🥹. He technically didn’t compromise her though, more like schemed so she didn’t have a choice but same thing lol

{Regarding the Duke by Grace Callaway} had a bit of the second scenario. He wanted to marry the FMC (it was part of a revenge ploy he had going on) and they were actually married for 8 years, the marriage was pleasant but the MMC held himself back for…reasons. Really good book imo, the plot was bonkers but I love a man who becomes obsessed with his wife…sue me 🤷🏾‍♀️

Please no big age gaps over 10 years unless the FMC is over 21 we love a “spinster” 🫶🏾 and please no love triangles. Thank you good folks
