Vintage cardboard fruit basket

I came across a lovely vintage fruit basket made out of cardboard that I’d love to put some type of waterproof cover on so it could be more durable. Any ideas? Not sure if it could be laminated? Alternatively, considering just framing the side panel with the logo on it, but not sure if framing a piece of cardboard is a thing?
