Can you snore while awake if you try?
If you can, it opens up the possibility of testing a few things.
I can snore standing up if I try, and it's easier if I'm lying on my back. This makes me think that an (uncomfortable ) wedge pillow is not going to be the solution for me.
I can snore with my nose blocked (squeezing it with my fingers). This tells me that any solutions that open up the nasal passages, like those magnetic nose strips, are not going to be the solution for me.
I can only really faintly snore if I stick my tongue out (like an inch of tongue outside my lips). This makes me think I have a fat tongue and that SnoreGym exercises and weight loss that reduces my neck circumference may help me.
I can snore more easily if pull my jaw towards my neck. I can barely snore if I hit my jaw outwards. This tells me that some type of mouth guard may help me. Unfortunately I wear Invisalign retainers at night so this isn't a viable solution for me.
It's worth testing out some of these and more if you are able to snore at will.
