Why does everyone just give out chocolate on halloween?

What happened to airheads, sour patch kids, laffy taffy, fruit chews, lemonheads, and all the other candy? Whys it all just reeces, snickers, hersheys and kitkats? I mean im fine with that stuff but i want fruity candy too. Not just a trashbag full of chocolate.
