Aerobic vs anaerobic exercise. Which one feels better to stick with?

Discussion

I used to think cardio was for fat loss and weights were for muscle. Turns out, my body didn’t care but my mindset did.

When I was deep into running, I felt proud of the grind but constantly wrecked. Every session felt like a willpower test. Then I switched to lifting and HIIT, and suddenly I wasn’t dreading workouts anymore. The scale didn’t move faster, but my consistency did.

Somewhere along the way, I realized: we treat “aerobic vs anaerobic” like a lab debate oxygen levels, glycogen use, all that stuff. But in real life, most of us stick with whatever feels good enough to repeat.

For me, short, intense sessions win because they make me feel strong and alive. For others, that slow, steady cardio rhythm might be exactly what keeps them sane.

So what about you, do you chase the slow burn or the all-out bursts? Which one actually keeps you coming back?
