Cat8 Question

My friend and I just ran a 26awg cat8 cable through his house but we scratched the tip of the cable and no it won't work. He's buying a pack of pass-through connectors that says not compatible with 22awg but it is compatible with 23-24 awg. Can we use these connectors to change out the tips of the cable?
