Why do I daydream?
I have been analyzing my daydreams and noticed a pattern: in my dreams I very often argue with people and win the arguments, sometimes I even have physical fights (and win them too).
I started daydreaming as a child in an environment where I often saw adults yelling and fighting, and I myself was not allowed to express anger in any way, it was almost violently supressed (definately emotional abuse but also physically not letting me go away/escape).
Maybe I have the inner need or learned manner to do the same myself but know it is not okay and my brain changes the behaviour into my daydreams?
I am wondering what would be a good way to process the need of yelling and fighting. I do not want to talk about it to anyone. I like to do martial arts but at least the one I am doing now doesn’t really fullfill my need of actually fighting (I love it for different reasons)
I do like to draw, maybe I should draw sketches of people fighting 🤔
Also I have heard from my partner that I tend to overreact easily and feel like they are arguing with me when they are not. Maybe I make false interpretations in the hopes of getting to defend myself in a fight?
Has anyone else had any similar thoughts? I am a bit scared since this is very personal but I will just hit ”Post” now. Thanks for reading!
