Ark with better adventures?!

General

This game absolutely kicks ass. When I first started playing I was disappointed because I have sunk like 900 hours into Ark and they seemed very cloned of each other at first glance, just with re-skins and less things to tame in Conan. In that game things look better (on PS5 with a 77" hi def TV here) but the world honestly feels pretty dead after a while once you realize that the extent of your interactions with other inhabitants of the universe will be to subjugate and ride them. There really isn't much in the way of named monsters or NPC's to interact with, or any kind of quest lines. So when I logged into Conan for the first time, I heave a sigh and instantly felt like closing out of the game as I was just burnt out.

Boy was I wrong. I am a huge high fantasy fan, and I love RPG's. This game feels so much more alive, and I am having a blast exploring the world with my Kushite Fighter III in tow (lol) and my trusty horse who I drag to battles even though he is sick of getting stabbed and has no opposable thumbs to stab back with. Even the mechanics that are the same as Ark feel like they have a fresh sheen as I explore new possibilities and combinations. I guess the biggest complaint I have is that there are a ton of crafting stations, and some of them do just one tiny little niche thing but take quite a bit of prep to work out. But then again, that aspect creates another layer of challenge to keep me mentally engaged. I said it to the normal difficulty and didn't touch any of the extra options, as I found that making things too streamlined can be a fun sucker for survival games (although JFC I do not have 48+ hours to sit around waiting for a god damn Rex to tame, I'm looking at you, Ark default settings).

Overall I am giving this thing a 10 out of 10. I can't wait to dig in to endgame content and start chipping away at the DLC's as I have quite a bit of time off work to play this game right now.
