Taking some profits lately - How to not feel regret
So I’ve been trimming a few of my positions lately after some decent gains. My broker even joked that I’m finally learning to take profits instead of “diamond-handing everything into oblivion.”
It honestly feels strange, like I’m bailing too early, but man taking some profit feels a lot better than seeing it on paper only for it to disappear later. I’m not trying to time the top or anything, just taking a bit off the table here and there.
I get that some people like to let their winners ride, and that’s cool too. I’m just trying to build the habit of not getting too greedy.
How do you all handle profit taking? Do you have a set rule, or just go with your gut?
I am feeling a level of regret almost instantly thinking i should just let it build in my portfolio.
