LFM 5-Man Ultra/SF Hardcore Journey – 4 Nights/Week – Doomhowl (Alliance NA) – Chill, Committed Players Wanted
Looking for a consistent, friendly 5-man team for an Ultra/Self-Found Hardcore run on Doomhowl (Alliance). 4 nights/week, structured but chill environment. No toxicity, no drama, just teamwork and progression.
If you’ve been wanting a reason to log in, commit, and see how far you can go with a great team, this might be it.
Schedule: Tues / Wed / Thurs / Sun: 8–11 PM EST
Server/Faction: Doomhowl/Alliance
If you've been playing HC, then you understand the level of time commitment this requires (but if you don't, please scroll down to the FAQ section). Please don't ask to join this group if you don't fully grasp this time commitment.
COMP
Tank: Warrior / Paladin / Druid
Healer: Priest (Me)
DPS: Mage
DPS: Druid / Rogue
DPS: Hunter / Paladin / Warrior
COMP SET-UP
No duplicate classes. We'll aim for at most two players per armor type (cloth, leather, mail, plate) to minimize loot competition. Sadly, no Warlocks - (healer already fills the cloth slot) and Mage is locked for portals and strength in Classic.
ATMOSPHERE
We will maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or discrimination of any kind. Everyone deserves a respectful and safe environment. Kindness and teamwork are non-negotiable.
LEVEL DISPARITY
We will do all quests/mob grinding together in order to keep our levels equal. In the event of a disparity, higher-level members will have to idle, and lower members will grind to catch up and even out. We'll consider situations a "disparity" when someone is 2 or more levels off from the group (this should hopefully be extremely rare and not happen).
PROFESSIONS
Professions aren’t a focus during sessions, but you can level them as we go, but, please avoid delaying the group. If you level them off-hours, please don’t gain combat XP to stay synced with the team.
DUNGEON RUNNING
Once dungeons become available, we’ll run them regularly each session for XP and gear until they’re no longer efficient or don't require gear. Ideally, we’ll run them in tandem for efficiency. For example, finishing with Deadmines one night and starting the next session by running it again.
ADDONS
The only addons that are required are the Ultra Hardcore addon (set to "Recommended").
LEVELING ROUTE
We will all travel to and start in Elwynn Forest. We will not be running addons that guide you in the most optimal leveling route (like RestedXP). I'll be using Questie just to track quests, and we will stick to zones with quests that are "yellow/green." (Most likely in the initial zones - Elwynn Forest > Dun Morogh > Loch Modan/Westfall > Darkshore).
COMMUNICATIONS
Battle.net group chat will be used to coordinate/chat off-hours, but voice will NOT be used at all during our runs (to maintain difficulty, keep it classic/ultra feeling, and for accessibility). I do have a Discord server ready if that is desired by the group instead.
SCHEDULING
No play on federal holidays or days before/after said holidays. Please treat attendance seriously. Life happens, but consistent participation is expected out of respect for everyone’s time. We’ll vote on make-up sessions when needed.
FAQ:
Will we make characters with similar/theme names? Will we all join the same guild?
Possibly - we can discuss what we want to do as a group before starting our journey.
What happens if someone dies?
At level 9 or lower, we will simply wait for the person to go agane and catch back up (optionally, we can use mains/alts to help that person catch back up quickly). Upon reaching level 10, we have reached the point of no return - any death from any member = entire team goes agane.
What happens if someone quits the team?
We find a new player and go agane - or if most of the team no longer wants to go agane, we can resign and I can start a new group.
I want to play more, but it's not fun waiting just to play during our scheduled times. What do I do?
If you play a lot, it is highly preferred that this is NOT your main or only character, so that when our group is not currently running, you don't feel stuck or can't play at your own pace/time.
Won't some quests reliant on item drops and xp-split in general be a nightmare?
Yes, some quests will be tedious, but we should be able to make up for those moments of tedium by absolutely blasting through others as a group of 5, and our sheer efficiency killing as a group of 5 should help to alleviate xp-split.
How long would it take to get to level 60 as a 5-man?
I believe the average for most players is something like 150-200 hours playing normally, but we could potentially be faster if we're playing efficiently and crushing content.
This is going to take forever - do you really think you can reach 60 with 5 people reliably showing up for hundreds of hours?
For most people, realistically, no - it'll be rare to find people who are committed, and 1 death midway will probably break the group. However, I think there's a chance, however small, we can build the right group of people who really love playing and are committed to making it; so it is indeed possible. It's all about the vibes of the group, and I believe in regular vibe checks to make sure everyone's still vibing in the journey.
What if we don't make it to 60?
Even if the group somehow fizzles out and we can't make it, I think we would have had fun along the way, and it still would have been worth the journey, so I won't be too sad if we don't make it.
What's your background?
I'm a big gamer nerd. Excluding other games, I played WoW on and off since 2004 (not every expansion), warrior raid tanking mostly in WoTLK/Cata and then playing short stints of PvP in SL/DF as a holy/disc priest, but always quitting due to exhaustion from player toxicity. I made it to 60 on holy priest on the OG HC realms (Defias Pillager) early on release and died in LBRS (with my epic donkey mount; RIP) from some weird tank pull that somehow pulled multiple groups across the room.
If this sounds like your kind of adventure, reach out. Would love to have you on the team!
If interested, please either DM or comment here with what role/class you'd be interested in. You can also reach me on Battle.net or Discord.
