Received the boot after maternity leave
Worked for a company in NJ as a full time senior project manager and the third day on the job the boss surprises me and says she’s going on maternity leave. I plow through the next year executing my assignments. It’s been a 1-2 months since boss has returned. Maybe 2/3 times a week she asks when my major project is going live. The day it goes live is the same day I get laid off and the excuse is there’s no more work for me, which isn’t true as additional phases were already discussed.
What it feels like is it was sold as a fulltime role but sold to me as a temporary role to fill in for the boss and to end when she gets back and gets her feet stable.
Severance? None!
Do I have any legal recourse?
