Nausea 6 weeks after ovarian cyst removal, only symptom is nausea and vomiting

NSFWGeneral Question/Discussion

I got a 10cm ovarian cyst, as well as my right ovary, tubes, and appendix out last month on September 16. My recovery was pretty difficult, but after 3 weeks I was eating completely normally again, all of my symptoms had subsided significantly, and I felt normal again. I was off my pain meds and only taking 20mg trintellix daily for anxiety. For reference, I have been on this medication for many years

My follow up appt was mid-October, where I was cleared to return to work, return to my normal diet, incision was healing amazing. I noticed during Thanksgiving I was feeling nauseous, where I ended up throwing up and extremely sick for the rest of the night. Chopped it up to be eating more than my stomach could handle and completely forgot about it. Fast forward to this week, I began experiencing SEVERE vomiting and nausea, I couldn’t keep a single sip of water or food down. I decided to return to the hospital in case it was related to my surgery. I was giving Zofran intravenously, which instantly cured my nausea and was sent on my way with a small prescription of that.

I am wondering if anyone has experienced something like this after surgery. My ONLY symptom has been extreme nausea. I usually throw up if I can’t hold down the Zofran long enough, but if I am able to stay calm and let it work, I feel great for the rest of the day. Usually take another one 6-8 hrs later depending on how I feel. I am seeing my family doctor this Monday to discuss possible new medications and to get another prescription of Zofran. At this point, I can’t even imagine what I would do without it. Before I went back to the hospital, no OTC anti-nauseas would work, including Gravol.

I am at such a loss because I was feeling great up until last week. I don’t know if it could be the trintellix or another underlying problem in my body. If anyone has ever had a similar experience I’d love to hear about your recovery and any anti-nausea recommendations !
