Recoveries While Dying

When a Hero is dying and they spend a Recovery, do they recover Stamina from 0 or do they recover Stamina from the amount they had.

Example: A Hero is at -10/27 Stamina. They are able to spend a Recovery to heal 9HP. Do they end up with -1/27 HP or 9/27 HP?
