Retroid classic & flip 2 combo
Need some advice, maybe from someone who has owned both a flip 2 and a Thor. I’m quite lucky in that I’ve had a steam deck for a while so my higher end gaming needs are covered, and I still have a new 3ds xl although it’s been gathering dust mostly since the steam deck arrived. I’ve just recently picked up a brick as a pocketable pick up and go device and have been playing it a lot more at home than I expected. More than my deck… Pretty much sold on picking up a Retroid classic for the oled display, slightly bigger screen and larger body for longer play (I have big hands). I’ll probably keep the brick if I can sort through sharing saves. While on the Retroid website I noticed the flip 2 is $30 off when combined with the classic. That and a single shipping fee for both devices is actually quite attractive - getting both would be significantly cheaper than a Thor. I’ve been thinking about it for a week or so and a clamshell would be great for travel, the steam deck is a bit large for my commute and short flights etc. - at least for my tastes. For me it’s home and longer travel. Also means my wife and I would both have a horizontal device at home with the deck and flip. What I’m stuck on is whether picking up a flip 2 still makes sense now, vs. saving up a bit longer for a Thor? Anyone who has had both and using it for single screen games primarily have any thoughts?
