Loving the world AND God

I need some help interpreting how to live by this scripture. It says in John 2:15 “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him”. Why can I not love the world and also love the Father? Is loving the world not also loving Him, loving his creation? I understand that this may be in reference to the desires of the flesh, but am I still allowed to love the things of this world? Music, movies, animals, art, things that are not directly related to Christianity?

I think that in a way, loving the world IS loving the LORD. I don’t know, I just need guidance. Thank you for reading. God bless you.
