Why Pinbox?

The title of this article aptly describes the beginning of this journey, as Pinbox arose from the need to take genuine control of our files. We then conceived the idea of a decentralized storage application where encryption is the cornerstone. Pinbox is the embodiment of this idea.

The Problem with Big Tech

Our information is constantly being mined by the usual suspects — Big Tech — who profit by selling all our data to the highest bidder. And I say “our data” loosely, because for them, we don't have genuine control over our information; they simply dispose of it freely at their discretion.

The Importance of Pinbox

This underscores the importance of tools like Pinbox, which gives its users full control over their information and the right to privacy.

“Many times we have had the experience that after much effort and research in a creative process, we encounter the disappointing reality that our ideas have been copied and published long before they saw the light of day, because we believed they were safe on our devices or email.” Nora Gonzalez - Plastic Artist.

Stories like these are becoming increasingly common, and they represent a latent risk for all users of services presented as free and safe, where we are the product.

What’s Next

In future articles, we will explain the various functionalities and technologies involved in the construction and application of Pinbox. We firmly believe that tools like Pinbox are vital for anyone who considers it important to maintain the integrity, privacy, and availability of their information.
