Hey everybody! I would like some advice. Which schools should I apply to? 170 LSAT, 2.95 GPA, 9 years WE working in behavioral health and reentry services for individuals transitioning out of incarceration - specifically a behavioral health docket and a recovery court docket
Hey everybody! Happy (post) Halloween!
Firstly, I gotta say that this board is a godsend, and I really really appreciate the feedback and support I’ve already received from this board in this journey. It feels really sane around here
I feel like so many people on the online LSA spaces are T14 or bust, and that is just not my experience or desires, and I am so grateful for this board!
I live on the East Coast and I want to stay “relatively” on the East Coast
Here is my list so far:
Wash U St Louis (moonshot here, I am below both their GPA and LSAT median’s, even if I go GPA blind)
UNC Chapel Hill (also a long shot)
BU (also a long shot)
BC (also a long shot)
Wake Forest (also a long shot)
George Mason (top choice/target school - I would be instate)
GW (long shot, but a good school)
Villanova, Temple, Drexel (I love Philly, I think it would be good to go here)
UMD (top choice, love Baltimore, have a lot of friends there)
William and Mary
University of Iowa
Washington and Lee (top choice, have a legal clinic with criminal law and another with public interest law, I think I would be really excited to go here)
Alabama (farthest south)
Emory (splitter friendly school)
Fordham (unlikely - not sure if I want to live in NYC)
University of Florida Levin (feel good about this school)
UTenn Knoxville
University of South Carolina
Tulane
University of Richmond
American University
Seton Hall
Syracuse University
Stetson University Florida
Howard University
If anybody has specific advice to any of these schools, or what my odds are, or schools that would look favorably on my work experience, I’d be really grateful!
The judge that supervises our docket is going to be one of my letter’s of recommendation
Also, am I too late to apply this cycle? Trying to submit all my apps before thanksgiving is over
Thanks for any and all advice!!! I wish everybody the best on their applications this cycle
