Unusual smell coming from furnace

Noticed a strong smell coming from the furnace vent outside. Started smelling it inside the hvac room and couldn't figure out what it was. Took the panel off to inspect the burners and noticed the blowers were kinda scorching the area around them. You can see the glow of the heat and all the rust and burnt areas around. Does this look terrible? How quickly does this need to be addressed?
