Firefighter I - things I wish I knew before testing

Training/Tactics

That test caught me off guard more than a live burn šŸ˜…
Everyone told me ā€œjust read IFSTA front to back,ā€ but half of the questions felt like real-life calls foam ratios, sprinklers, command stuff, even scene safety setups. The wording messes with you way more than the content.

What helped wasn’t studying longer*...*Ā i started doing quick 10-minute refreshers between drills or before bed instead of marathon sessions. Little hits add up.

I kept IFSTA as my main guide, but also ran practice scenarios through chatgpt .And for extra reps, I usedĀ PrepMe – Firefighter I & II Exam PrepĀ on my phone ... honestly felt the closest to the real test šŸ‘‰Ā https://apps.apple.com/app/id6753870704.

When test day came, I actually felt calm šŸ’ŖšŸ» like I’d already seen those situations before. If you’re working on your cert now: don’t just memorize answers. Read each question like you’r already on the scene making the call.

Keep your head on a swivel and good luck to anyone testing soon šŸ™ŒšŸ»
