M1 pro vs m4 air

So I’m currently using a macbook air m1 16/256 which is kinda showing its age. Keep in mind that I have a PC at home , so I use it mostly while at uni and sometimes at home, connected to my monitor. Should I get a used macbook pro m1 pro 16/512 or a base model m4 air? Saw that the base model has 2 less gpu cores so kinda confused about that. (Note: m1 pro mac costs slightly more than the m4 air in my place)
