Arc Raiders: A game where quality of life and game sense don't exist to the devs.
It really doesn’t matter how good the core game is — the things I’m about to list completely ruin any experience the devs were trying to provide.
- Players joining sessions late
I shouldn’t have to explain why this is a terrible idea, but in case you don’t know, I’ll tell you. When players join late, they’re entering a game where most of the hotspots have already been looted, leaving them with no option other than to hunt other players for a chance at getting loot back — or even having a productive raid at all.
This means the early birds get free pickings of all the good loot and can choose to either leave early with their spoils or hunt down extra players. Late joiners don’t get that privilege.
- No quest markers on the map
I still can’t figure out why a basic staple in almost all open-world games is missing from one of the most anticipated titles of the year. I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent wandering around the map looking for common quest interactables or locations while being hunted by other Raiders and Arcs — it’s a real bad joke.
- Common quest items being frustratingly rare
Here’s an example: I’ve spent exactly six missions on night raids trying to find the *exceedingly rare* “Rusted Gear,” and I’ve somehow only managed to come up with… two? How could this be? Bear in mind, it’s not risk-free to explore every nook and cranny like this. There is no point even searching for some singular rare items anymore because they are that rare.
- The obvious cheating problem
The kind that plagues games like this is already in full force. Can’t really comment much on it — if you know, you know.
It's really annoying because I can see how much effort went into the core game, it looks, sounds, and plays amazing in every way. It's like they forgot this game isn't free to play any more and you cant just hideaway the game behind an excessive grind. ( The free-to-play model is make the grind unbearable so you pay real money.)
