Dog hates babies. Help!

I have a little 15lbs shorkie, who is absolutely great with a very ‘particular’ personality. He has a great personality in the sense that he’s calm, travels easy & keeps mostly to himself. He’s good with small dogs, okay with big dogs and has always been socialized with them. He’s not particularly food motivated, which makes training hard.. but he’s highly attentive to me and has learned all the commands needed without explicit training. He “settles” as soon as I put a rug down, “waits” when I say wait, knows his toys by name, and is literally constantly staring at me. A Velcro dog through and through.

However, he has major issues with resource guarding me. He jumps up on my lap when there’s a dog around and refuses to let them close to me. As soon as I put him down, he’s okay with them.

The main issue, though, is that he hates babies and toddlers. He treats them as he would a cat. Lunges, is feral and wants to attack. This is a huge problem as my husband and I want to get pregnant soon. I’d love a kick start to training but have no idea how to train it out of him without actually exposing him to babies. At the park, he ignores toddlers and babies unless they get too close. As soon as they do, he WILL lunge. Does anyone have good resources for a non treat motivated dog that hates babies? Did anyone experience this and successful train your dog out of this?
