How frequently do your seniors see ward patients?

Clinical

I’d be interested to gauge how different people’s senior doctors (I’d class this as anyone beyond SHO level) deal with who reviews patients daily. I’ve worked in areas with a daily consultant ward round, and others where a consultant will review each patient at the start of the week and then only see new patients as they come in. I’ve often found when consultants in the latter group are on, progress on discharge often slows down, and patients could go for a stretch of 6 days without being seen by anyone more senior than F1 level. Is there any national guidance on this?
