S4 Final Rewatch

:x: Spoilers :x:

So I finished my Rewatch of the S4 a few minutes ago and I wanted to post my thoughts Over it.

I liked the road they took with the Main Arc here, basically playing with the viewer that everything witnessed before, every abduction, every possible alien body, every Clue of the truth, was just to obfuscate the Main Duo and to hide the unconventional truth.

GA was brilliant as always (expect for the short chase scene with Kritschgau where she’s screaming FBI FBI) and honestly I liked Bill Scully and his concern for his sister, giving the episode some extra spice considering her developing cancer. The more I‘m seeing again of the show the more she‘s carrying it for me, especially in comparison to her co actor.

DD had some cool moments during that episode, his skepticism at first for the authenticity of the Alien Body, the Scene with Kritschgau on the Couch and the blink in his eyes after he found out that Scullys cancer was the product of him falling into the traps laid by the government.

But come on I think the director of that episode made a big mistake with his final scene. I wouldn’t have need some tears here (they looked not that realistic and DD isn’t the one who‘s good at crying), I think him sitting shattered in his couch watching the old hearing about Alien life would have been better for the effect of the scene and DD Acting range, because I‘m sure he could pull it off to look at least as If his world crumbled
