Why does everything in music feel so transactional now?
Hey everyone. I’m genuinely frustrated with how the music world works lately. I have strong songs, lyrics, melodies, and a clear vision of what I want. But every producer I approach treats it like a quick online job: remote sessions, file exchanges, payment, done.
That’s not how great music is made. Real music needs presence, communication, and shared energy in the same space. (I believe) You can’t replicate that through emails and links.
I’m not looking for convenience, I’m looking for connection and artistic depth. It’s disappointing to see how rare that has become. Everything feels like business first, art second, and that’s exactly what kills the soul of it.
Are there any artists here who feel the same way? And honestly — what should I even do at this point?
