Should I ask my professor to increase my grade so I can cross 8 CGPA?

Discussion

Hey everyone, I’m currently in my 3rd year, and after seeing my recent results, I’m just below an 8 CGPA — like barely missing it. I’ve done decently in most subjects, but one or two courses pulled me down a bit.

I was wondering if it’s okay (or ethical) to politely ask my professor if there’s any possibility of reconsidering or rounding up my grade a little, especially if I’m very close to the next grade boundary. I’m not asking for freebies, just hoping they might consider internal marks, participation, etc.

Has anyone here ever done this? Does it actually work, or does it come off as unprofessional/desperate? I really want to cross 8 this semester because it affects placements.

Would appreciate any advice or experiences!
