M5A97 R2.0, with 8350 processor

Hi all, Recently my PC has been shutting down hard and the message I am getting upon reboot is PC thermal heat protection. I have an Asus mb M5A97 R2.0, with AMD 8350 processor. It’s an older unit with 24 gb ddr4 ram but has served me well in studio work and gaming. What do you think the best way to go in fixing/replacing components would be? New paste? New mobo w new processor? I have a full ATX tower and happy to provide additional info. I also feel the 450w power supply should be upgraded at this time. Looking for opinions and best practices etc. Thank you all.
