catharsis
I didn't own or regularly play Brawl, Smash 4, or Ultimate. Just the first 2. I played Ultimate with friends sometimes and was pretty comfortable getting my ass handed to me even though I was used to always winning growing up on 64 or Melee
back in August I played with my sister's bf and a few other super seasoned Ult fans and got annihilated. I bought a NS2 and started practicing on Ult.
Today I destroyed my sister's bf. I played Aegis (same as before I started practicing) and he played G&W (his main). he commended me on my fast improvement.
He honestly doesn't play as often anymore so it's not a huge deal but it felt like he was miles ahead of me 2 months ago andthe days we played, we played a lot. it would just get my ass kick over and over again. so today felt really good.
As much as I dislike the toxicity of qp, I genuinely wouldn't have improved this fast without it. I've spent a lot of my time tilted and cursing the entire online experience, but it is a good way to improve on your skills as long as you mind the difference in input delay and adapt when going back.
so thanks to all the awesome players and total assholes who helped me improve :D
