Might get snake: please help!

Hiya! I’ve been considering getting a snake, specifically a corn snake as I’ve heard they should be most beginner friendly, as I’ve wanted one since I was a child, but of course none of my parents allowed me to get one…but I’m now 18 and have moved out, soooooo could anyone help please?

I don’t want an animal I can’t properly care for, so any tips on anything about owning snakes is appreciated!! But again, it’s gonna be a corn snake specifically.

Like for example, how many times a week do they need to eat? And what? Mice, hamsters or something else?

What’s the best substrate for them?

How to properly clean their poop or just enclosure in general?

Heat lamp and maintaining perfect temperature? And what temperature?

Enclosure size and what enrichment/decorations do they like most?

Can you handle them, and how do you spend time with them?

Can they coexist with a cat?

Do they smell? (I’m not sure I could survive with my apartment smelling permanently)

Please please help!! I don’t know anyone in real life that has snake experience!!
