Help me capture the sounds of a 1940s Orchestra

Think: Snow White, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Bambi, Lady and the Tramp. That lush, vintage Hollywood orchestration from the late 1930s through the 1950s.

I’m hoping to learn (and maybe help others learn) how to create music in this style completely from scratch inside a DAW.

Any advice or insight would be incredibly helpful from recommended VSTs, effects plugins, and EQ approaches while mixing, to automation techniques, tempo ranges, and anything else that captures that sound.

The hardest part for me has been getting the instrumentation to truly feel like it came from that era. From the color and timbre of the strings, woodwinds, and brass to the subtle reel-to-reel tape warmth and analog saturation that define that classic Disney sound.

Keywords: vintage, lush, 1940s, Disney style, orchestral

Thanks in advance!
