Partner broke trust in micro cheating ways
We were officially dating for just over a year. We are currently broken up. 6 weeks into dating, he sent flame emoji DM’s to a couple women on IG. He didn’t tell me about it, I found out later when I went through his phone. A couple months into dating, I went to borrow his phone and one of the tabs open was the free Twitter corn page of a sex worker. We hadn’t had a conversation about corn yet, and I know some couples are fine with it, in that moment I realized I wasn’t fine with it and set the boundary. This past July, I went to borrow his phone and opened his Instagram and the first pages on his feed were cleavage and suggestive gym poses from female acquaintances. He was initially defensive, saying he didn’t understand why I was upset because he knew them from school. 1 week ago we were being intimate and he asked to do butt stuff, sometimes I am in the mood for this and sometimes not, I shook my head no and he acknowledged and said that’s OK, we don’t have to. During this session he was asking for consent for other acts. Apparently, he then decided to ask for the butt stuff again, I didn’t hear him because the fan was on loudly. And he apparently thought I said “mmhmm” as an affirmative. He then placed a finger against my butt and I jumped up and went “wtf dude?” This incident was the catalyst for me, breaking up with him, but it has brought up the past pain from the other incidents. I guess I’m wondering if it’s even possible to reconcile when there’s been this ongoing pattern, I don’t know how much of it is irredeemable and how much is him being a dumb, young guy.
