Conservation service hours for Star Scout

Scouting America

Good afternoon,

I have a cub scout leader working on their wood badge. Part of their project is setting up a uniform exchange/upcycle to help defray the cost for new uniforms for the packs/troop. Additionally, it helps keep clothes out of the landfill, promotes "A Scout is Thrifty", and obviously helps keep our troop looking nice :)

I fully believe this meets the intent of conservation service hours if my scouts volunteer to inventory all the dropped off uniforms, organize, and help kick off this project.

Do you agree? I know this isn't a typical nature-oriented project but it does seem to have positive environmental outcomes and promotes conservation of clothing. Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you,

-New SM
