Someone explain Rin

I've Never liked this guy. But, a lot of people seem borderline obsessed with him. Why?

I agree, in the 2nd Selection he was amazing and kinda scary at the start, but ever since the U20 match he's been kind of... a bratty little yandare.

His rivalry with Shidou and his reluctant co-existence with Bachira was fun to watch, but neither of those have shown up since the end of the 3rd selection.

So, why do people like him? Is it his personality? His playstyle? His ego? Tbh, I dislike everythinf about the guy and cannot see why people like him. So, I'm asking.
