So, in short: I've had this idea in my head for a while now, about a generation of "descendants" of the Mystery Gang that takes place in the early 2000s, considering as "canon" that the events of the original gang happened around 1969 (the year Scooby Doo was first released) or the early 1970s.

So, in my mind, my idea is basically to bring together a new generation of characters, this time the grandchildren of Fred, Daphne, Velma, and Shaggy, who don't know each other but end up forming an unlikely group, very much in the style of The Breakfast Club, you know?

So, what I have in mind for the four main characters is: again, two boys and two girls. Fred's grandson and Shaggy's granddaughter would be two of the characters. Then, in my headcanon, Velma and Daphne wouldn't have had children of their own. But Velma got married, and one of her wife's nieces would be part of the new gang, and as for Daphne, her descendant would be the grandson of one of her older sisters (borrowing some of the idea from Mystery Inc. for this part).

This is the character I need your help with. Daph's "grandson".

You see, the gang's original aesthetic works really well because their outfits are very simple and have a characteristic color palette that somewhat matches each member's personality, and it also retains some of the aesthetic of the '60s or '70s.

What I want to do here is something similar: I don't want to give these characters colors or personalities derived from their grandparents. While each one would fulfill a "stereotype" (like, again, The Breakfast Club, or the original gang themselves), I don't want Fred's grandson to be the leader again, Velma's niece to be the nerd again, and so on, you know?

So, here's my problem: let me introduce you to Grady Blake. This character is supposed to be one of Daphne's great-nephews. Yes, I know, aside from his eye and hair color, he doesn't look anything like her. And that's kind of my problem... originally, I thought of making him a sort of male Wendy Corduroy (from Gravity Falls). You know what I mean? This friendly, easygoing, laid-back character that everyone likes, and he even has a similar aesthetic to Wendy. I envisioned him as the new leader of this new gang.

The thing is, when I finished editing the first version of the Sim, nothing about him really indicated his relation to Daphne. So I decided to change my mind. And instead of making him this laid-back, cool guy, I made him the stereotypical high school quarterback, popular (maybe because of his family's money) but not a jerk, while still retaining some of his original personality. Here, the character started to take on a bit more of a "Daphne look", but that made me doubt whether I should stick with my original idea or go more in this direction.

Also, I wondered if it wouldn't be better to just leave the character in shades of purple so the family connection is clear. I can do that with the varsity jacket from the second version. With the "lumberjack version," it would be a bit more complicated, but I could still see how it works.

Anyway, I'm just starting out. This is the first Sim of this gang I've made, and now I'm starting to doubt what I had in mind up until now.

I know it might be silly, but it would help me a lot if you could tell me which version of Grady you like better for a grandson (great-nephew) of Daphne; a more individual character and not a "male copy of-" or a more "popular, nice, and friendly high school guy" type.

Could you give me your opinion on my OC for the "third" generation of the gang I'm trying to create in The Sims 4? Your input would be greatly appreciated.
