Thoughts????
I, 38M and my wife, 38F have been together for 3 years. I told my wife I wasn't comfortable with her having male friends as I don't see the point of opposite sex friends when you're married. I just started a new job, and on my third day or so of training I accepted a ride from a female coworker who offered to take me home every week until training was over since we will be working different shifts. When I got home I told her this verbatim and she immediately got upset. Since she gave me a ride in the company vehicle our supervisor let her know that she cannot do that for understandable reasons. Since that day we haven't communicated with each other and I deleted her number of course because I had no plans on pursuing anything else with her such as friendship or casual conversation. I explained this to my wife and she said me accepting a ride from a female coworker is the same as when she used to hang out with a male coworker from her past. Mind you it's a co-worker she'd known for 4 years and used to smoke weed with and send texts to saying "I love you" and "I miss you" years before her and I started talking. She's said he was like a brother however I looked at it as an inappropriate friendship to have while we're married. This is also the same co-worker that she invited to our baby shower when she was pregnant with our son two years ago without telling me. Is me accepting ONE ride from a lady that I had no intentions of hanging out with or calling a "friend" the same as her actual friendship? Especially when I've had the same routine of going to work and coming home?
