Does my Goodwill 401(k) grow over time on its own through investments, or does it stay the same unless I start working there again?
So when I was 23 in 2017 just before leaving my job at Goodwill of 2 years, because I got a job more focused on my career goal, I opened up a 401(k) with Goodwill that I had opened for maybe 2 or 3 months before leaving my job there. Last time I checked it it had about $200 in it (maybe a little more). I was wondering for anyone who might know, does that retirement money grow automatically over time through invested money or does it stay stagnant the entire time unless I work at Goodwill again? I left on good terms so I can go back.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing your answers.
If it does grow automatically, I should have at least $1k in investments by now.
