Is it normal to need help for till/ register for orders as a trainee?

So last week I had my first shift working front of house after my modules, and in my opinion it was pretty bad. The manager had someone show me around where everything is at the front (fries, chicken, boxes of stuff, things like that) and then i got put onto the register after that and I was the main person working on register. I had done the practice modules that showed you around but I felt like I did a really bad job. I needed help for almost every order, aside from small ones that I had to do a few times and the names for something are different than in the register. I did the chips fine, but I haven't done the chicken yet because I couldn't remember which tray was which (luckily they didn't ask).

Is this normal? Im someone who gets stressed in unknown situations (this is my first job) and when it got busy i genuinely felt like quitting. I've seen posts where youre supposed to shadow someone and I feel like an idiot for being slow. The best part of the shift was doing a restaurant check and cleaning 😭. Side note: is there any more things on vault or whatever for me to learn more orders?
